Whole House Renovation

Ashton Renovations Delivers!
We hired Ashton Renovations to undertake a complete renovation of our kitchen in our 90 year old home. This work involved removing the entire existing kitchen and rebuilding a new kitchen from the floor up. Extensive work was undertaken including removal of a structural wall, re-routing of plumbing, electrical and duct work, removal of asbestos and installation of new cabinets, flooring, lighting and built-in appliances.
We were extremely impressed with Mark Ashton. Mark is a thoughtful and kind person and an expert communicator. He provided us with a detailed quote for labour and supplies and focused our attention on the key issues involved in the renovation. He was able to reassure us about the project we were undertaking immediately. Mark was transparent with us about the potential issues we would encounter in undertaking an extensive renovation of a kitchen in an older home. And he was reassuring throughout the project; Mark and his team were proactive and presented mitigation strategies for our consideration whenever we encountered issues. Mark brought with him expert sub-contractors and a professional and courteous team. You could tell that everyone associated with his company did their job well and was willing to go the extra mile to deliver an excellent product. His team kept our home clean and?livable despite the extensive nature of the project. Mark delivered an exceptional kitchen and stayed on budget. He made many suggestions about products we were considering from flooring to cabinets to new doors. Many of his suggestions focused on how we could make our home more environmentally friendly. Towards the end of our project Mark went beyond the call of duty and coordinated all aspects of our work with our cabinet and counter top installers.
We are more than pleased with the results, we have a charming open concept kitchen that has completed our home - and are already planning a new project with Ashton Renovations. We strongly recommend Ashton Renovations to other homeowners considering new kitchens.

Ashton is tops!
We bought our first home just over a year ago and never did we think we would buy one that required such extensive renovations, but we did and we found ourselves looking for a contractor when I came across Mark Ashton's website. After our first meeting, we knew he was the contractor for us. He was very professional and asked questions we had never even considered. The scope of our project started out rather small but grew extensively once we began tearing down walls (we all know what these old houses can be like!). Mark, Ron & Rob were always willing to go the extra mile and consistently offered up alternatives to save on time and budget. In the end, we are in a home that we love and will continue to call Mark and his crew back to complete other projects for us in the future.

"Ashton Renovations has completed two projects for us. The first was a portico replacement. The fine quality carpentry and attention to detail convinced us to have Ashton Renovations back to gut and completely replace a main bathroom in our 60 year old home. All work was completed with expert design and material recommendations. The work entailed complete removal of fixtures and walls and flooring, the installation of a whirlpool tub with elaborate shower and tap fittings along with custom made cabinetry and custom radiant heated ceramic flooring. Condo Renovation
"I was the (unfortunate) victim of an unscrupulous contractor. They commenced renovations on my condominium in the summer of 2007. I was unhappy with their work from the outset and we had a number of?disagreements regarding the quality of work during the months of September and October. Then in mid October the contractor stormed out of my home and told me to get 'someone else' to finish the work.
I called a number of (contractors) to determine what sort of recourse I could take and none of their recommendations were satisfactory to me.
When Mark Ashton came to give me his quote I was extremely impressed. Not only did he agree with me regarding the poor quality of the original contractor's work, he carefully made suggestions that would ensure that I wouldn't continue to 'bleed money' on this project. Mark Ashton and Crew were magnificent!
"Mark Ashton and his crew came to install a stair railing we had ordered from Montreal. It was an incredibly complex piece and took three days to install. We were impressed with Mark's and his crew's ability to figure out what was clearly a very difficult piece of installation with very sketchy instructions. During the installation, we were amazed at the crew's quiet work - we almost forgot they were there, and at their clean and tidy workspace. They were prepared to remove everything at the end of each day, but we insisted they feel free to leave things. Each night they left a neat and tidy row of all their tools and equipment. Our son was starting a career in carpentry and they were helpful talking to him about what they were doing. The finished railing is just astounding."
