Whole House Renovations - Cabbagetown
A whole house renovation usually encompasses many areas of the home. It may be as extensive as totally removing all interior finishes down to its framing, or involve extensive renovations that keep some of the homes original make up i.e. drywall, flooring, trim work, etc. Typically though, most whole house renovations involve at least the kitchen and bathrooms. They may also include improvements to other areas of the house including basements, laundry rooms, bedrooms, and other common areas that involve the painting, trim work, and flooring.
Whatever the extent of a whole house renovation, Ashton Renovations can provide all the services required to transform your home into a new home with finishes and upgrades that meet your needs.
Our featured whole house renovation below in Toronto's Cabbagetown, was a newly purchased property and received extensive upgrades to meet the buyer's needs. Their goal was to transform the traditional century old home into a modern one with a new kitchen, bathroom and interiors that included flooring, painting, and trim work. It also included a new back walk out from the kitchen with an overhead transom. The result was a stunning urban contemporary home that kept some of the homes original characteristics.

Basement Renovations - East York
Most Toronto homes have basements and they can add valuable living space to a home. The most common attraction to renovating a basement is adding an additional bathroom. Space is in abundance in this area, so large bathrooms can be added with elements perhaps not appropriate in the other bathrooms of the house. Whether it's a large tub, sauna, or walk in shower, it can be a treat and definitely add value to the home.
Depending on the current state of a basement there are many other improvements to consider including adding proper subflooring, upgraded insulation, lighting, wet bar, built-in cabinetry, laundry room, and of course, the open concept entertainment area.
The project below features a basement redo that included a luxury basement bathroom and conversion to an open concept basement with a gaming area.

Exterior Renovations - Toronto Danforth
Though not as exciting as some interior finishes on a home, exterior renovations and repairs can be rewarding. Protecting your investments inside from the elements outside is wise. Making sure your roof does not leak, and eavestrough function properly and divert water away from your home is the first line of defence. As you make your way down your home's exterior ensure that siding and masonry are in good condition and not damaged. Windows and doors must also be efficient and not leak. Landscaping is also important to keep up so you can enjoy the outside area of your home. All these, and many other exterior renovations are vital to maintaining the standards, value, and curb appeal of your Toronto home.
The landscaping project below features a revitalization of the homeowner's backyard into a usable space by adding new sod, patio stones and pea gravel. Lighting was upgraded and entrances crated to improve access.
